This book is compiled according to the inorganic chemistry program os chemicals faculty of Hanoi Pegagogical University No2 and is based on the lectures that the author has taught students for many years.

       The cintents of the book deal with the basic knowledge of nonmetal elements on the periodic table such as natural occurrnce, physiccal and chemical properties, synthesis methods and applications. The book also discusses the chemistry of the non - metals in relation to their positions in the periodic gruops. It covers the noble gases, hydrogen, the halogens, Group VIA, oxygen, sulfur, Group VA, nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon, and silicon. where the groups contain metals, as in Group IVA, their chemistry is briefly discussed to showthe propertises which occur.

       The contents of the book are used in inorganic chemistry programs at universites and part of the contents are used in high schools in Viet Nam.
